A worldwide leading company specialized in providing telecommunications equipment and related services to mobile and fixed operators had an opening for a high level VP Sales/ Key Account Manager due to tremendous growth and accordingly internal career moves. The underlying idea was also to recruit the potential successor to the Belgian President.

Ideally the searched for candidate was to have a strong sales experience in the telecom sector in combination with knowledge of operations. Further more, the incumbent candidate was expected to have built up a vast and extensive network with key decision makers in the telecom industry.

After a first encounter with the HR Director and later on with the CEO it became clear that in this particular case, Interim Management would not sufficiently accommodate our client’s needs. Hence, we advised to proceed with an Executive Search assignment.

After the detailed intake meeting and validation of the required profile, Essensys started off with mapping the whole telecom industry. We soon came up with an exhaustive but interesting long list which in consultation with the client was brought down to a workable short list and eventually further filtered down to a top three candidate short list.

Essensys succeeded after an intense search to successfully find the right match and have the final candidate on board in no longer than a 4 months’ period.
